If you are working in IT area, doesn’t matter if you’re a web designer or a software developer, your friends will always assume you know everything about computers and at least you know how to fix computers . That’s good to know many things, but it turns to bad if they ask you to fix their computer all the time, and it’s just getting worse when you need to come over to their house to fix it, instead of playing your favorite game .

The best way to fix their computer without you leaving your computer is remote desktop into their computer. But how? Not all their computers have Windows Remote Desktop and it’s even harder to explain to them how to get their own IP address and will be worse if their computer is behind a router share with many other computer .

Solution: Team Viewer

The main reason I like about Team Viewer is you only need to send the download link of the file to your friends. They could run it and that’s it. Ready to go. They don’t need to set up anything (You don’t need to guide them how to set it up ).

It also has a great price. Well, when I say great, I mean it’s free . Non-commercial only of course. So, if you only need to fix your friend computers, then why not using it.

More features

There are so many feature which you’re could benefit of. One feature which Windows Remote Desktop doesn’t have is File Transfer. Team Viewer has its own file transfer so you could share file easily. Unfortunately, you can’t drag and drop files. Hope they make one like that soon.

One more fun feature is Integrate your logo, so now, you can give your friend a more personalize and easier to use version of Team Viewer. Make them think, you’re the maker of this super duper cool software

Cross Platform is a fun features as you can controls your friends’ computer even they are MAC and you are PC. I mentions it’s at last ‘cos I rarely have a chance to use it. But, well, useful sometime.

Conclusion

Team Viewer isn’t a software you run everyday, but it becomes really useful when you need to access to other computer. I’m not a sale man for Team Viewer and I’m only have a free version of it. I only think it’s so useful(and free) that’s I should share to everyone.
