RSS, feeds, or this Icon what is that? If you are a blogger or a blogger reader, you sure know about it. But a lot of my friends who rarely use blog never really get the idea of it, and why they need to care about it anyways.

You could easily find the definition for RSS in WIKI  but to simplify it, I just say: Subscribe a feed from a website mean you will get the a new entry from that website as soon as they update anything.

A lot of blog out there are really useful, all the professionals developers or designers want to show off their skill or share their knowledge. And you?re benefit from it. Most websites support RSS nowadays- newspaper, forums…, and you don't want to be a person from the past, do you.

How  to use that? Well, you could just subscribe it into your Firefox or IE. When you access a website, if this icon appear on the address bar of Firefox or next to Home icon of IE . The update of the website will be appear in your Bookmarks/Favorites sections.

A better way is using a feed reader. You could download the Feedreader 3 from this link: http://www.feedreader.com/download. It's free, simple but have all you need to surf feeds.

 

Above is the screenshot of the Feedreader 3. To add a new feed, just go into File/New/Feed or just press F3. Enter the feed links. Which you could find attach to the RSS icon of any website.

There?re so many ways to surf feeds, even with MS Outlooks or some Bittorrent software. It?s all up to you. After you learn how to use feed, you will find you missed a lot of interesting things.
